Arklow Wheelchair Association donation to Bravery Blankets

Bravery-blanky-3

Last Week, members of the Arklow branch of the Irish Wheel Association (IWA) contributed a number of Bravery Blankets to St Johns Ward in Crumlin Children’s Hospital, Dublin.

These blankets were crafted by users of the facility along with members of staff of the Arklow IWA. They were presented to local Arklow woman, Deirdre Bentley whose son Ben was himself a cancer patient in St John’s ward.

Deirdre then forwards the Bravery Blankets to a central location in Longford, at which point they are washed, disinfected and delivered to St. Johns Ward in Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

Bravery Blanky is a nationwide non-profit organisation that provides crocheted or knitted blankets to children within the country that have been diagnosed with different types of cancer.
