Arklow Seabreeze Festival

The 2017 Arklow Seabreeze Festival reaches its final weekend, with events taking place from Friday, July 14th right through till  Sunday, July 16th.

This fun free event is the highlight in the town’s social calendar and offers something for young and old.

This weekend will bring live street performances from Bare Bones, Wise Guys, Gravity, Glen Art, Small Town Crisis, The Kilkennys and Ray Dolan. Also upcoming music artist can also enter for a busking competition.

The usual carnival will run each night and there will be array of on street fun and games as well as the fireworks display to bring the festivities to a close on Sunday evening.

Local Artists in Arklow Library

 

New collections of paintings by Arklow’s Ferndale Artist’s Group now on exhibition at Arklow Library.

The exhibition features’ over 34 paintings and will run for the month of July.

The majority of the works has used acrylics while a small number are canvass. All the works are previously unseen.

The local art group of around 20 members stemmed from a class run by Arklow Further Education Centre. After the students finished their course they applied for funding to form a group which developed into Ferndale Artist  Group.

They have also exhibited there work at The Sunbeam House Arklow.

Farmers Market

 

The Weekly Arklow Farmers Market resumes in the Pigeon Racing Hall, Castlepark, Arklow on Saturday, July 22nd from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

A selection of home baked goods as well as fresh fruit and vegetables will be on sale.

New stall holders are always welcome.
