Arklow Port’s Potential

arklow_town_logoThe recent arrival of a large cargo vessel to Arklow Port is seen as an encouraging sign that Arklow could once again be a thriving port.  The “Arklow Fortune” is the first ship of its size to enter the harbour in a decade.  This ship, owned by Arklow Shipping, was here for repair works at Arklow Marine Services.  The recent dredging of the harbour in recent years made the docking of this ship possible.

Masquerade Drama Group 2017

18156843_1967709813459060_1144464478191024229_nThe Arklow based drama group, Masquerade, opened their new stage drama on Tuesday in the Pipe Band Hall in Castlepark.  This is the first time they have performed at this venue and have presented Bernard Farrell’s black comedy ‘I do not like thee Dr. Fell’ each night at 8pm.  Written in 1979 this is the first play by the Irish playwright and is considered his best, it pokes fun at the concept of therapy groups and centres around a group therapy session involving six people.  Tonight’s performance is the last chance to see Masquerade’s very entertaining production of this play.  For reservations, call Masquerade on 086 3259780.
