Arus Lorcain Christmas Market & Craft Fair

christmas-4The sixth annual Christmas Market & Craft Fair will take place in Arus Lorcain from 10am to 5pm on Saturday/Sunday 19th/20th November.  The fair will have more than 40 stalls selling unit hand-crafted gifts and Christmas novelties.  Santa will be there at 12.30pm to officially open the fair which is a wonderful family event.

 

 

Arklow Christmas Festival

christmas-1The Festival Committee has been working together since May to make the 2016 Festival bigger and better.  They have something planned for every weekend until 17th December.  Christmas lights will be switched on 26th November followed by a mini funfair in the carpark and a fireworks display.  Saturday 3rd December sees the arrival of Santa and a performance by the Arklow Pipe Band.  The Christmas Craft Fair and Food Market will be held on 17th December.

This year sees the introduction of a GOLDEN TICKET DRAW – the prize value of this draw is over €1,000.  The draw for this will take place on Saturday 17th December.

There will be free parking in Council owned car parks from Friday 2nd December 2016 up to Monday 2nd January 2017 inclusive.   Free parking on the street will be restricted to two hours from Friday 2nd December 2016 up to Monday 2nd January 2017 inclusive.

 

 

Arklow Vikings Special Olympics

arklow-vikings1-150x150Arklow Vikings Special Olympics are looking for an enthusiastic person to coach the men’s basketball team this season.  Training is on Friday evenings from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in the Coral Leisure centre.  Anyone interested can contact the club by writing via their Facebook page or by texting or phoning 086-2175501.

Members of the club’s swimming team recently won a total of 16 medals at the gala hosted by Gorey Special Olympics Club.  Congratulations to Cormac and Darragh Sheridan, Thomas Duffy, Dan Mulhall, Cathy Macken, Adam and Thomas who are trained by Gemma Bracken.

Santa’s Arrival at Bridgewater

We are excited to announce that Santa will be arriving at the centre on Sunday 20th November at 12 noon! Come along to see Santa arrive in style on the RNLI boat and then into the centre to meet and greet all the children. Visiting Santa is FREE and if you enter our Facebook competition you could be the first person to meet Santa! There will be lots of fun on the mall. This competition is open to all businesses in the town from Templerainey to the Wexford Road, so whether you are a shop, hotel, hairdressers, restaurant, office or a café,  if you decorate your window for Christmas you are in the competition and have an opportunity to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.

The windows will be independently judged and the winners announced on Saturday 17th December 2016. 

Dressing windows for Christmas really helps to create a wonderful atmosphere in the town.

The Local Enterprise Office Wicklow (LEO Wicklow) are running an ‘Accessing Finance for Your Small/Medium Business’ half-day Workshop on Tuesday 29th November.  If you haven’t yet attended one of these Workshops you are strongly encouraged to do so.  The cost is only €10 (includes tea/coffee & pastry).  The Workshop runs from 9.30am – 1.30pm in the beautiful Wicklow County Campus, Rathnew, Co Wicklow.

The November Workshop is being delivered by Niall Glynn, business consultant, loan application specialist and expert on the MicrofinanceIreland (MFI) loan scheme.  Even if you do not intend to make a funding application (loan, grant or private investment) soon, you will benefit hugely from the clarity of seeing how to structure your business plan for investment.
