The Arklow & District Chamber Ball and Awards Ceremony 2016 is on Friday 16th of September in the Arklow Bay Hotel. As usual the ball promises to be a wonderful night to celebrate all that is good about business in south County Wicklow. Both members and non-members are welcome to attend. The evening will commence with a drinks reception at 7.15pm with dinner served at 8.15pm followed by the presentation of awards. The guest speaker this year is Minister Simon Harris T.D.

WORLD RECORD BID
An attempt will be made in Arklow next week to break a Guinness World Record. Arklow Library is delighted to announce an extremely exciting and unique upcoming event. OrigamiUSA is partnering with Wildlife Conservation Society and its official attempt to break the Guinness World Records title for the largest display of origami elephants. The goal is to bring attention to the 35,000 elephants that are killed each year for their Ivory. The event will run on Monday August 29th from 2-4pm and Tuesday August 30th from 6-8pm and will operate on a casual drop-in basis.
RESCHEDULED TABLE QUIZ
Arklow Music and Arts group has rescheduled their table quiz for Friday August 26th in the Harbour Bar, Lower Main Street at 9pm. Teams to comprise four people and price per team is just €20. All money raised will help in the provision of providing a Theatre and Performance space for the town of Arklow.
ARKLOW ENTERPRISE TOWN
Arklow Enterprise town is taking place in St Marys College, Arklow on Friday September 30th and Saturday October 1st 2016.
Enterprise Town is a free event and represents a fantastic opportunity to showcase local businesses, clubs and societies as well as local schools to potential new customers or new members. The official Enterprise Town launch will take place on Thursday September 1st in Arklow Library, Main Street between 6.30 – 7.30pm please feel free to come along. PASSION IN CONCERT
If you did not manage a trip abroad this Summer never fear not as Arklow Music and Arts Group (AMA) will transport you
from the Café Music of Paris, to Granada in Spain and finish off with some great Italian Classics at our Passion in Concert, which takes in The Woodenbridge Hotel, Vale of Avoca, Arklow, Co. Wicklow on Friday 9th September at 7.30pm. Tickets €15 each and available from Kavanaghs, Wexford Road, Arklow and The Woodenbridge Hotel.
Arklow Music and Arts present “Passion in Concert” which is a must for all music lovers and features Tenor- Anthony Norton, Violin – Patrick Collins and Guitar – Drajen Derek with support acts Margaret Fitzgerald on Piano and Michael Steadman on Classical Guitar. You will not have to travel to Dublin to see this “must see show” while at the same time helping AMA obtain a music and arts performance space and theatre for the town of Arklow.
WOODENBRIDGE HOTEL FUNDRAISER IN AID OF ST JOHN WARD
The Woodenbridge Hotel hosting a fundraiser for the St johns Ward, which is the children’s cancer ward in Crumlin hospital, on the 23rd of September at 8pm. This fundraiser is being run in the name of a little seven year old girl called Annie who is currently being treated on this ward. Tickets are €35 per person and every cent raised at the function will go to the charity. Tickets can be purchased at the hotel and tables can be reserved in advance.
