Arklow & District Chamber Ball and Awards Ceremony 2016

Friday 16th September 2016 in the Arklow Bay Hotel

The Arklow & District Chamber Ball and Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday 16th of September in the Arklow Bay Hotel. Both members and non-members are welcome to attend. The evening will commence with a drinks reception at 7.15pm with dinner served at 8.15pm followed by the presentation of awards.

Tickets for this black tie event cost €60 each with a table of 10 for €500 and are available from the Chamber Office at 0402-26909 or email chamber@arklow.ie.

There was a wonderful response from the public to the awards this year.  We received several hundred nominations across the 7 awards and would like to thank all those who took the time to send one in.  A list of those shortlisted will be published as soon as we receive the names from the independent judges.

The awards recognises local people & businesses and their achievements in the following categories:

Best New Start Up sponsored by Allied Irish Bank

For any business opened within the last 12 months

Best Established Business sponsored by Arklow Business Enterprise Centre

For established businesses who excel in any sector, small, medium or large

The Service Excellence Award sponsored by Elavon Merchant Services

To recognise those companies providing outstanding to their customers

The Young Achiever Award sponsored by Bank of Ireland

This award goes to a young person who has given service to the community through any field such as, entrepreneurial, sport, education, arts, culture or community service

Ambassador for Tourism Award sponsored by Arklow Bay Hotel

For any business providing tourism related services or a community group or individual who helps support or promote tourism in the area

The Employee of the Year Award Sponsored by Bridgewater Shopping

Any outstanding employee can be nominated by customers, co-workers or an employer

The Person of the Year Award Sponsored by Servier (Ireland) Industries Ltd

This award will recognise a person who, through their achievements, has made an outstanding contribution to the town or is an Ambassador for Arklow

 

 AMA Musical Pub Quiz

Who is the most musical family in Arklow? Who are the most knowledgeable group of friends when it comes to music? You can find out at AMA’s first ever musical pub quiz on Thursday 18th August at 8 pm in Kennys of the Harbour. Friends of Philo

On Sunday 21st August from 8.30pm till 12.30am in Arklow Bay Hotel starts Friends of Philo Thin Lizzy Tribute night in aid of Arklow Lifeboat Station & the RNLI.

Tinn Lizzy from Norway will be featuring Sean O’Connor from The Lookalikes Dublin Snowblind from Germany.
Feel the Pinch from Arklow featuring Brian Meakin from Wicklow.

Tickets are €10 and will be on sale from first weekend in August at the Arklow Bay Hotel and Shavus Mens Barbers Main Street Arklow.

There will be also 40+ visitors from Norway and Germany supporting both bands.
