The awards will recognise local people & businesses and their achievements in the following categories:

  • Best New Start Up sponsored by Allied Irish Bank

For any business opened within the last 12 months

  • Best Established Business sponsored by Arklow Business Enterprise Centre

For established businesses who excel in any sector, small, medium or large

To recognise those companies providing outstanding to their customers

  • The Young Achiever Award sponsored by Bank of Ireland

This award goes to a young person who has given service to the community through any field such as, entrepreneurial, sport, education, arts, culture or community service

  • Ambassador for Tourism Award sponsored by Arklow Bay Hotel

For any business providing tourism related services or a community group or individual who helps support or promote tourism in the area

  • The Employee of the Year Award Sponsored by Bridgewater Shopping

Any outstanding employee can be nominated by customers, co-workers or an employer

7.30 pm – Maritime Queen & King Selection. Princesses and Princes will meet at the Lifeboat Station to begin their parade around the town.  Later that evening in the Arklow Sailing Club the Maritime Festival Queen and King will be selected.

Arklow Maritime Museum continues to improve its facilities by adding new exhibitions and displays. After thirty years since it was first opened, thanks to a dedicated group of Arklow people headed by the late Mark Synnott, they welcome visitors to the new site in the Bridgewater Centre.

Sale of Shed ‘Stuff’

This Sunday 31st July during Arklow Maritime Festival Weekend there will be Sale of Shed ‘Stuff’ at The Brook, Arklow (just down from the Silver Band Hall, next to the Kingdom Hall). The sale will be from 11.30 am to 5.00 pm. Proceeds for the Marsh project & Arklow Lifeboat.

A Night For Ray – Arklow

A fundraiser for The Bone Marrow For Leukeimia Trust in memory of Raymond Gaffney.

A Night For Ray returns in Raymond’s home town of Arklow Co.Wicklow featuring some of the best music the county has to offer. Playing on the night will be Brian Lawlor, Black Cheery and Feel The Pinch. This will be a night of serious craic for a great cause so let’s pack the place out.

Tickets are €10 and are on sale in Raymod Gaffney and Sons 18 Main Street or on the door on the night.

Crazy Golf at Bridgewater Shopping Centre

Help the Bridgewater Shopping Centre celebrate the great sport of golf being added to the Rio 2016 Olympics! Mini crazy golf events will take place on Saturday 6th August from 1 pm – 5 pm. Play and win – token prizes will be given out on the day. There will also be FREE face painting on the mall.

AMA Musical Pub Quiz

You can find out at AMA’s first ever musical pub quiz on Thursday 18th August at 8 pm in Kennys of the Harbour.
