Cycle Against Suicide

Cycle Against Suicide“Cycle Against Suicide is coming to Arklow on Friday May 6th on the final leg of its 14 day journey around the island of Ireland to raise awareness of the considerable help and support available to anybody battling depression, self harm, at risk of suicide and those bereaved by suicide.  There have been far too many families in the town directly affected by suicide and we want to get the message that it’s ok not to feel ok, and that it’s absolutely ok to ask for help.

On Friday 6th May, 300 cyclists and crew will stay overnight in Arklow (with thanks to St. Mary’s who are the host school for the leg) and we are appealing to residents of Arklow, Gorey & surrounding areas to offer a bed for the night in their home to host a cyclist or crew member.  We are also appealing for volunteers to help coordinate the cycle arrival and departure through the town and turn Arklow orange in support” – Aoife Ryan, Arklow & Gorey Homestay Coordinator.
