Girl DrawingCongratulations to Emma Seckington, aged 9, who has made it to the finals of the 2016 Doodle 4 Google.  Voting opened on Sunday 7th February and closes on Sunday 14th February so please log on to www.google.ie/doodle4google/vote and select Emma’s entry in the Group 2 section.  She has themed her entry on Irish wildlife so please vote for her and help get her to the doodle onto the Google homepage.  The prize giving ceremony will take place on 7th March and the winning doodle will appear on Google on 28th March.

 

GoRun.ie Health and Fitness Seminar

What does GoRun.ie do??

GoRun.ie is an online race event calendar and facilitator.  They launched back in November 2015 and are getting great feedback in relation to how the service is much needed from a runners point of view.  They have roughly between 7,000-8,000 page loads each week with 2,500 users each week logging onto their website. The point of the Seminar is to promote health and Fitness in Wicklow with experts in their field.

Arklow Music & Arts Scene Awards

ArtsParticipants in Christmas competition gathered in Kennys of the Harbour for the presentation of awards.  Competitors of all ages were represented but the award for “Best in Show” went to the very talented Olivia Sheehy & Cat Leibowitx of Empathy.  Congratulations to them and special congratulations to the those in the Arklow Music & Arts Scene who did wonderful work in 2015 to highlight what Arklow has to offer in music and creative arts. This hardworking  group goal is to secure a performing arts centre for the community.
