First Responders

Arklow Community First Responders are looking for new volunteers to provide care and treatment to people experiencing Cardiac Emergencies. The full training will be provided so no medical experience is needed. Applicants must be over 18, have own transport, be available to attend monthly training sessions and also be available to commit some time to a weekly roster system. Community Games

Would you the parents, guardians, club leaders, adults over eighteen years be interested in becoming an Arklow Community Games volunteer coach/manager for 2016? If yes please contact area P.R.O. Arklow Lifeboat Hurry to the Curry

This years “Hurry to the Curry” fundraiser for the Arklow RNLI takes place on Friday 29th January in the Arklow Bay Hotel.  Tickets are €20 and are available from the Arklow Bay Hotel, the Lifeboat Station; the Fundraising Committee can be contacted by emailing arklow@rnli.org, by phoning 0402-32850 or Michael on 086-3871500.

RNLI-Saving Lives

The committee invites you to come along and enjoy the culinary masterpieces prepared by Ann and her volunteers.  This year the Arklow RNLI celebrates 190 years of saving lives – the fundraising team and the lifeboat crew give their time and could not function without your support.

 

New McElheron Council Chamber – Arklow Municipal District Office

Cllr John Ryan, Cllr Sylvester Bourke and CEO Bryan Doyle paid special recognition to the McElheron family at the official opening of the “McElheron Chamber” in the new offices of Arklow Municipal District Office of Wicklow County Council last Wednesday 20th January.

Joe McElheron spoke of times past, remembering all those who were part of Arklow’s rich heritage and acknowledged the family’s appreciation of this honour.  His father John Edward McElheron served on Arklow Urban District Council from 1942 to 1977 and his mother May McElheron was co-opted to the Council in 1977 until 1977.  Vincent, his brother, served on Arklow Urban Council and Arklow Town Council from 1985 until 2014.  They area all fondly remembered for their dedicated service to the people of Arklow town over so many years.
