Spook-Tacular Halloween in Arklow Events

  •  Bat Chat

On Friday October 27th Arklow Library will be hosting a free light hearted and fun discussion to teach young children about bats! This event will be held from 3.45pm – 4.45pm.

  •  Spooky Graveyard Walk

 A local historian Pat Power will lead an evening walk for free from 7.30pm – 9.00pm on Friday 27th October.

  • Halloween Games

On Friday 27th October 8.00pm – 10.00pm, The Vault on Coomie Lane Arklow will host a free event for families and children of all ages to come in fancy dress and participate in traditional Halloween games.

  • Hocus Pocus

On Saturday 28th October, Arklow Leisure Centre will host a screening of the movie Hocus Pocus at 3pm. Entry is €5 or €15 for a family of two adults and two children.

Later in the evening, at 8pm, Nightmare on Elm Street will also be screened. Entry is €5.

  • Stars in Their Eyes

Arklow Panto Creations will host a jam packed junior show of talented children in the Arklow Bay Hotel from 5pm on Saturday 28th October. Tickets are available at the door or can be purchased from Arklow Building Supplies at €7 per ticket or €15 if also attending the adult show.

Later in the evening, Stars In Their Eyes for the adults will be hosted from 9pm. Tickets are €10.

  •  House of Horrors

A fundraising event in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital will take place on Sunday October 29th from 8pm in The Arklow Bay Hotel. There will be music on the night, with prizes for best fancy dress and lots of party games, with entertainment for all. Tickets are available from the Arklow Bay Hotel and cost €10.

  • Halloween in the Attic

On October 29th, Arklow Rugby Club & Christy’s Arklow will be hosting a blood curdling Sunday evening Fancy Dress Party in Christy’s. There will be live music, DJ and spot prizes on the night. Admission is €5.

  • Teenager Fancy Dress Disco

Arklow Rugby Club will be hosting a disco for teenagers up to 16 years of age from 8pm –11.30pm on October 29th.

  • Hotel Transylvania

Arklow Leisure Centre will be hosting a Halloween movie treat of Hotel Transylvania on Monday October 30th from 3pm. Admission is €5 or €15 for a family of two adults and two children.

  •  Spectacular Fireworks

A spectacular fireworks display from 9pm will finish off the Spook-tacular Events in Arklow.

 

Dinner & Movie Deal

Story Time

Starbucks have teamed up with Eason’s to provide children with a free story time every Saturday at 11am. From now until the end of the year, bring children to the Starbucks kids’ corner for them to enjoy the story of the week!

 

 

 

                                                                  

Exhibition

Abstract Word Exhibition will display paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces – all of which are a representation of the personality of each artist! This exhibition will run until Friday October 27th.

 

 

 

 

Wild Food Workshop

There will be a wild food workshop in aid of RNLI and Arklow Sea Scouts on Sunday October 22nd, from midday at the Arklow Sea Scouts Centre, Dock Road Arklow.

This workshop will involve learning how to identify useful & edible wild plant for practical and medical uses. In addition, participants will be treated to a light wild food lunch & refreshments.

The workshop will be hosted by Arklow native, Barry Reid.

Market

  The Arklow weekly Farmers market takes place in the Pigeon Racing Hall, Castlepark, Arklow every Saturday from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Home baked goods as well as a selection fruit and vegetables will be on sale.

New stall holders are always welcome.
