Arklow & District Chamber Ball & Business Awards 2017

We are delighted to announce that this year’s Arklow & District Chamber Ball & Business Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday 15th of September in the Arklow Bay Hotel. The guest speaker for this year’s awards is Sean Kelly MEP.

The ball promises to be a wonderful night to celebrate all that is good about business in south County Wicklow.

Both members and non-members are welcome to attend. The evening will commence with a drinks reception at 7.15 pm with Dinner served at 8.15pm followed by the presentation of awards.

 

 

The Arklow & District Chamber awards will recognize local people & businesses and their achievements in the following 5 categories:

 Best New Start Up Award – For any business opened within the last 12 months.

Best Established Business Award – For established businesses who excel in any sector, small, medium or large.

Ambassador for Tourism Award – For any business providing tourism related services or a community group or individual who helps support or promote tourism in the area.

The Employee of the Year Award – Any outstanding employee can be nominated by customers, co-workers or an employer.

The Person of the Year Award – This award will recognize a person who, through their achievements, has made an outstanding contribution to the town or is an Ambassador for Arklow.

***NOMINATIONS CAN BE COMPLETED BY ALL MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ***

Nomination forms are available at Arklow Library, The Arklow Bay Hotel, BOI, AIB, Arklow Post Office, Bridgewater (public noticeboard) & Supervalu. These forms can be dropped into any of our postboxes located in:

  • Arklow Library
  • The Arklow Bay Hotel
  • Arklow Chamber office

The closing date for acceptance of nominations is Friday 1st September 2017.

Enterprise in Arklow Photography Competition

Photo Competition is now closed.

Many Thanks to all that sent in photos for the Enterprise in Arklow photo competition. We received a huge number of beautiful photos of Arklow.

A selection of photographs will be displayed at the Arklow & District Chamber Ball on 15th September  2017. Entrants of these photos will be informed in advance and winning entries will be announced that evening. Best of Luck to everyone.

 

Arklow Maritime Heritage

As part of the National Heritage week, this Sunday the 20th August (opening time 10am – 7pm)  Arklow Maritime Museum are inviting people to come and learn about the maritime history of Arklow, focusing in particular on its boat building, lifeboat and fishing traditions.

The Maritime Museum is located in the front of the Bridgewater Shopping Centre (next to Eddie Rockets).

This is a free event, and suitable for children.

Classic Car Show

 

 

East Coast Classics will be hosting the popular classic & vintage car show at Arklow Rugby Club on Sunday August 20th from 12 noon until 5pm.

The show will include a fantastic display of vintage and classic cars.  It promises to be fun filled afternoon for all the family, with live music, bouncy castles and refreshments.

Admission is €10 for adults. Children are free.

Farmers Market

The popular weekly Farmers Market will take place this Saturday 19th August (10:30am – 1:00pm) in the local Pigeon Racing Hall, Castlepark.

A selection of home produce along with fresh vegetables & fruit will be on sale. New stall holders are always welcome.
