Receiving the beautiful Waterford Crystal Award this week, Chamber President, Mr. Garrett Dempsey reflected on the achievement.  He explained that in the early days of the pandemic the Chamber focused on supporting it’s members and the business community navigate their way through the crisis.  In turn, through the Cheers for Charity campaign,  both members and non-members came together to support the less well off in our community.  While this award recognises the Arklow & District Chamber as a positive force within the Chambers Ireland Network, Garrett expressed how proud he is of the Arklow business community and in particular the Chamber’s membership, for the solidarity they have shown in supporting the wider community.

Turning his attention to the future, Garrett suggested that while we might not be quite out of the woods yet in terms of Covid, this is a time to build resilience and prepare for our future.  He advised that the Chamber has been busy developing its strategy and reported that the future for Arklow is looking very encouraging, stating that the Chamber will be central in facilitating Arklow’s transformation
