The Huff of Arklow, the famous one-of-a-kind yacht which was built over 60 years ago and revolutionised yacht design, last week returned home to dock in Arklow for the first time since its restoration. The Huff of Arklow was built in the yard of Jack Tyrrell in Arklow in 1951 and it was recently welcomed back to these waters by his son Jimmy Tyrrell, a local maritime legend in his own right as the Arklow RNLI’s longest ever serving operations volunteer.
The gathering of the fleet- RNLI Arklow Maritime Festival takes place each year in Arklow, down on south quay and around town, fantastic line up of events for all the family this year and its mostly free!! So come on down to Arklow town!!

Arklow Municipal District staff are to move into their new offices on Main Street in Arklow. Cllr Pat Fitzgerald outlined that work is almost complete on the new council premises and that staff from the current offices at the Bridgewater Centre will soon be relocated. Cllr Fitzgerald confirmed that the library staff from St Mary’s Road will not be making a move into their new workplace yet due to staffing levels and works to furnish the interior of the building.
A fundraising car boot sale takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the grounds of St. Joseph’s Church, Templerainey in aid of the church. For more information please call 0402 32249.

She will play the upper room at the Harbour Bar, Lower Main Street, Arklow on Tuesday, 28th July at 8.30 p.m. Ticket cost is €10 and €8 conc. Playing support will be local singer – songwriter Brendan O’Regan who organises the Arklow Roots Gigs.

Summer Season is well under way for Arklow Tidy Towns Volunteers. Everyone is welcome to take part in Tidy Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at the courthouse. Come along and help make a difference. Please bring gloves.
Woodenbridge Development Association will host a public meeting in the Woodenbridge Hotel on Sunday, 26th July at 7 p.m. to get feedback on plans to develop a walking and cycle route between Woodenbridge and Ballycoog.
