Arklow Christmas Festival2The Arklow Christmas Festival will be held on Saturday 26th November, Saturday 3rd December, Sunday 11th December and 17th December and will open with the switching on of the lights and a fireworks display. It will include family fun events – Christmas Jumper Competition, Art Competition, Christmas Carols and more and on Sunday 11th it is hoped to have a Christmas Market in the Main Street.

Carols by Candlelight with Cruinniu

Arklow chamber choir, Cruinniu, is holding a “Carols by Candlelight” Concert on Thursday, 10th December in St. Mary and Peter’s Church, Arklow.  This local group will be accepted donations at the door and has chosen the Arklow Community First Responders as this year’s beneficiary.  They will be joined by guests including Take Note Male Choral Group, the Arklow Shipping Silver Band, John Bonner and Fonn Nollaig with the evening being overseen by Paul Sharkey who will be the MC for the evening.

Arklow Christmas Lights

The switching on of the Christmas Lights will herald the start of Arklow Christmas Festival and will take place on 28th November from 4pm – 5.30pm.    The Arklow Christmas Tree will be located by the bankstand in the Main Street car park and the winner of the junior art competition will be the lucky person who switches the lights on.  Weather permitting the evening will end with a fantastic display of fireworks.  Go to for further information.

Polish Carols Concert

As part of Arklow Christmas Festival  a Polish Carols Concert will take place on December 13th at 3pm in the Church of Sts. Mary and Peter Arklow.

Arklow Christmas Market
