Arklow This Week 26th October 2018

Arklow Halloween Festival Parade

This year it is hoped to make the Halloween night festivities (Wednesday, 31st October) EVEN BETTER by having a larger street parade, staged event and firework display!

People of all ages are encouraged to take part in the festivities on the night and to get into the Halloween spirit – no pun intended! – and wear some kind of fancy dress.

Entry is now open for larger organisations such as local community, sports groups and schools to enter fancy dress groups into the street parade. Business owners are encouraged to decorate their premises as the fantastic displays in the shop windows and the free-standing sculptures around town really contribute to the holiday atmosphere.

Arklow Municipal District is running a competition for the most original and exciting displays as a way of recognising people’s efforts, community spirit and creativity.

If any community or sports groups are interested in getting involved in the parade, or for businesses to register their window displays, please email to or phone 0402 42700.

A full programme of festival events has been released and is now available through the Libraries, Arklow MD office. It can be also viewed here and on facebook @ArklowMD or via the link below.…/spook-tacular-halloween-in-arklow-…

Halloween Event at Victorian Tea Times

Miss Havisham’s High Society Halloween Tea combines the ghoulish and the gracious, with spooky spine tingling tales set amidst the splendid surroundings of an authentic Victorian drawing room.

Created by well-known businesswoman, Audrey Whelan, Victorian Tea Times is a charming warm and unmissable experience where guests can enjoy delicious afternoon teas, served by parlour maids in costume and all presided over by a Victorian Matriarch!

For our upcoming Miss Havisham Halloween Tea we will be creating a rich, moody and dramatic evening with fabulous stories, food and cocktails and I would urge people to book as places are filling fast. It’s going to be scary …for all the right reasons!

Miss Havisham’s High Society Halloween Tea takes place on Friday 26th October at 7.30 pm. €45 per person.
